Many books have been written about breast cancer. Whether searching for treatment information, research assistance or emotional support, books can meet many of the changing needs of the patient going through this often difficult process. These books can be purchased in a bookstore or online. They may also be borrowed from a library.

"The Breast Cancer Book"

"The Breast Cancer Book: What You Need to Know to Make Informed Decisions" was written by Ruth H. Grobstein, M.D., Ph.D., a physician who works with breast cancer patients. Published in 2006, this book from Yale University Press explains the breast cancer diagnosis process and the many treatment options available. It is designed as a reference book that can be picked up and read from any point, depending on individual needs. Decision trees are available to facilitate good decision-making throughout the treatment process. "The Official Patient's Sourcebook on Male Breast Cancer"

"The Official Patient's Sourcebook on Male Breast Cancer: A Revised and Updated Directory for the Internet Age" was published in 2002 as one of the few books devoted to male breast cancer. Instead of offering advice on the disease, this book lists a multitude of resources on current research on this illness. Books and other sources available on the Internet or in medical libraries are included. Medical terms are explained to the reader for ease of use. This book is written to be understood by the intelligent, curious patient who wishes to navigate his breast cancer journey with many research tools at his side.

"Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Survivor's Soul"

"Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Survivor's Soul: Stories to Inspire, Support and Heal" was published in 2006 as part of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series. Family members have also been interviewed for this book, making it meaningful for those going through breast cancer and their loved ones as well. "Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Survivor's Soul" promises to provide a healthy serving of optimism to all who read it.

"Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book"

No review of breast cancer books would be complete without a discussion of "Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book."
