Hair growth is affected by many different factors, including aging, heredity, diet, health, and how often chemical hair care products are used. If you want to encourage your hair to grow faster naturally, it is important to follow a specific hair care routine. Before long, your hair will develop new hair skin cells at a faster rate.

Step 1

Massage the scalp with castor oil, which will stimulate the hair follicles. Massaging the scalp increases blood flow to the hair follicles, which helps oxygen reach the areas that develop new hair cells. By increasing oxygen to these areas, hair cells are able to grow more easily, and will produce thicker, stronger hair as a result. Pour 1 to 2 Tbsp. of castor oil into your hands, and spread it onto the scalp. Use your fingers to massage the oil onto the scalp, moving the fingers in circular motions. After five minutes, shampoo the hair as usual to remove the oil. Repeat twice per day.

Step 2

Stimulate the scalp with a prong hairbrush. Place a prong hairbrush onto the scalp, and move the brush around in slow, circular motions. Work from one side of the head to the other, focusing on areas that are particularly thin or that you want to grow hair more quickly. Continue to brush the scalp in this manner for at least 10 minutes. Repeat twice per day; once in the morning and again at night before bed.

Step 3

Wash the hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove scalp build-up. Using a clarifying shampoo helps remove dead skin cell build-up that can suffocate the hair follicles and can reduce blood flow to the scalp. Wet the hair thoroughly, and spread 2 Tbsp. of clarifying shampoo onto the scalp. Use your fingers to work up a rich lather, massaging the lather into the scalp for at least three minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with warm water. Repeat twice per day for the first few days, then reduce the frequency to once per day after that.
