Infidelity is a common problem that most males and females have had an experience with at some point in their lifetimes. After the relationship is over and all is revealed, many wonder why they didn't figure it out on their own. Knowing what to look for in a cheating mate can save a faithful one a lot of time and heartache. According to Dr. Robert Huizenga, there are many telltale signs that commonly appear when infidelity is involved.
The Telephone
When you begin to suspect your partner of cheating, one of the first things that you likely will do is to look for unfamiliar numbers on your partner's cell phone. However, if you find that your partner is deleting all of his numbers, this is a sign as well according to Dr. Huizenga. To add, if your partner now deletes all of his incoming emails when he used to let them accumulate, this could also be a sign. If he buys a cell phone and doesn't let you know, or if he has a separate cellular phone bill that is billed to his office, take caution. Does someone call his phone and hang up when she hears his voice?
Emotional Signs
According to Eric Heston of Ask Men.com, a cheating female may express a sudden and complete indifference to a man's opinion. The cheating female may begin to completely ignore her partner. However, Heston also names incessant nagging as another sign of cheating in a female. If she begins to examine your every flaw or is constantly lashing out at you, she may just be looking for a way to justify her own deception.
In the Bedroom
According to Dr. Robert Huizenga, if he buys new underwear and suddenly wants to try new love techniques with you in the bedroom, this could be a sign of cheating. His sudden desire to have more sex more often may be his own way of coming to terms with what he has done with someone else. Conversely, if your partner suddenly wants to stop having sex with you altogether, this can also be a red flag. However, use your own good judgment in these circumstances because a change in sexual interest alone does not necessarily indicate infidelity.
Friends
If you find that your partner suddenly resists being around your family or has no desire to be around your friends, she may be cheating. According to Eric Heston of Ask Men.com, she may be avoiding them in order to steer clear of her own feelings of guilt from cheating. Has a mysterious "old friend from way back" re-entered her life? Heston adds this to his list of signs that she may be cheating. If your spouse's coworkers seem uncomfortable in your presence, this could also be a sign.
Physical Evidence
More obvious evidence may come in many forms. For instance, if you are taking birth control pills and you find condoms in his car, that would definitely be a sign. Is he often working overtime without showing any extra income on his paycheck? Does he smell of an unfamiliar perfume, or does he often cover himself with cologne before leaving the house (but doesn't wear it around you)? Does he find excuses to take off his wedding ring? Taking note of these red flags and trusting your own intuition is important when the time comes to confront your partner of your concerns about the relationship.
