The human digestive tract absorbs casein more slowly than weigh protein, so it may help a person to feel full. Casein may be a viable alternative for people who cannot effectively digest whey protein.
Egg
People who consume a dairy-free diet may turn to egg protein as a hypoallergenic alternative to other protein supplements. Many consumers prefer the taste and texture of egg protein supplements to the creamy flavors of dairy-derived products. By weight, egg protein has fewer calories than whey or casein; it is also more expensive. Like other animal-derived supplements, egg protein is a complete source of protein and offers every essential amino acid.
Beef Protein
Beef protein shakes are a new addition to the sports nutrition industry. MuscleMeds, a beef protein supplement manufacturer, claims that beef protein isolate contains significant amounts of naturally occurring B-vitamins and creatine. These products are heavily processed to eliminate meaty flavors. MuscleMeds offers both blue raspberry and fruit punch flavors. Studies have not evaluated beef protein's safety or efficacy as a sports nutrition supplement.
