Anybody who has ever tried and failed at a weight loss diet before knows just how frustrating and discouraging it can be. While some people can shed pounds at a moment's notice, still others struggle in losing just a few. For this reason, many people turn to weight loss supplements to help speed up results. While science has advanced and made weight loss supplements safer and easier to use than ever, it is still important to find the best weight loss supplements out there for your dollar.
Alli for Weight Loss
Alli, a low-dose form of the prescription weight loss drug Xenical, is the first over-the-counter prescription drug for weight loss to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration. For this reason, dieters are all over it. While many people may use it as a way to "crash-diet" and lose several pounds in a hurry, when paired with the rest of the Alli system (including peer support and dieting information), Alli has been known to produce tremendous results.
According to CBSNews.com, Alli is more than just a diet pill. "The Alli program involves a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet, regular walking and toning exercises, and behavioral changes," says the feature article on the website entitled "All About Alli: The Weight Loss Pill."
This weight loss supplement is available in 60-day and 90-day supplements, costing the average user about $2 per day to use. As it is with most weight loss supplements, Alli does bring up concerns. According to the Mayo Clinic, the FDA is currently investigating claims of liver damage caused by the supplement.
Kick Up Your Diet with Proactol
Proactol has received the FDA stamp of approval for sale as a dietary supplement in the United States. It works by binding to fat, keeping it from being absorbed into the blood stream, reduce cholesterol and eliminate cravings for food by suppressing the appetite. It is not nearly as popular as the excessively-marketed Alli dietary supplement. At around $4 per day to use, Proactol is also significantly more expensive than some other supplements out there, including Alli.
Block Carbohydrates with CarboRid
CarboRid is not the only carbohydrate blocker on the market, but it is one of the more well-known of them. Not only does this weight loss supplements block the effect of carbohydrates on the body and contribute to good health through weight loss, but it also helps to maintain a healthy blood sugar. As it is not the same type of weight loss supplement as Alli and Proactol, CarboRid is significantly less expensive than other supplements, maxing out at about $20 per bottle.
