Soccer cleats are an important piece of equipment for any soccer player. Thousands of cleat types are available on the market, with leading sportswear brands providing a range of model. Comfort, weight and durability are important factors to consider when buying soccer cleats. Soccer cleats can also have an impact on how you kick the ball, adding power and swerve to passes and shots, or a soft touch to improve ball control.

Adidas Predator X

The Adidas Predator is one of the most famous soccer cleat models in the world. The Predator was the original cleat designed to enhance swerve, power and control. World superstars such as David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane wear Adidas Predator cleats as of February 2010. This is done by adding hard, finned rubber around the laces of the cleat that add traction when the ball is swerved, and the surface adds power when you drive through the ball.

Nike Mercurial Vapor III

The Nike Mercurial Vapor III is one the most exciting soccer cleats on the market. This Nike cleat is worn by world superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. The Nike Mercurial Vapor III is incredibly lightweight, weighing less than 200 g. The light weight created by a synthetic upper, and a carbon fiber heel helps you have a soft touch on the ball, and allows you to run full speed unhindered. The traction cleats on this product are molded differently, with different lengths that are designed to give quick acceleration and change of direction.

Puma PowerCat

The Puma PowerCat is Puma's power cleat designed to maximize contact made with the ball. This is achieved by SpringTech foam ridges that overlap across the front of the cleat. They are designed specifically to increase shooting power while maintaining touch on the ball.

Uhlsport Torkralle

The Uhlsport Torkralle is a unique soccer cleat in the fact it is designed specifically for goalkeepers. These cleats are comprised of soft grain, full leather and have a raised heel. The raised heel gives the double advantage of 4 mm extra height and forcing the keeper to stay on their toes. Additional frontal foot claws also help the keeper gain traction for diving saves. World superstar goalkeeper Lucasz Fabianski wears these cleats.
