While your cycling shoes are made to withstand any type of weather you subject them to, it can be an unpleasant to put wet shoes back onto your feet the next day. Rain, sleet and mud puddles all contribute to soaking your cycling shoes. Drying these shoes out is simple and won't take up too much of your time.
Step 1
Wrap a dry towel around the shoes while pressing gently to help absorb as much moisture as possible. Stick part of the towel inside the shoes and press gently to help absorb moisture there too.
Step 2
Remove any inserts that come out of your shoes and set them aside.
Step 3
Crumple up newspaper and stuff it inside of each shoe.
Step 4
Place the shoes in a dry place, preferably near (though not on top) of a heating vent. Set the inserts next to them to air-dry. You can even wrap the inserts in newspaper as well to help them to dry faster.
Step 5
Allow the shoes to air-dry overnight. Check on them in the morning. The shoes may need more time to dry; you can gauge this by feeling with your hands for dampness. Leave the shoes there and check on them periodically if they need more time.
Step 6
Replace the inserts back into the shoes once they are completely dry.
