Lipoplasty, also termed liposuction, is a very popular cosmetic surgery option for losing weight. This procedure involves suctioning pockets of adipose tissue (fats) from troublesome areas such as the thighs, buttocks, upper arms, hips and abdominal area. The most common complaint from patients who undergo liposuction is that there is extra, loose skin that remains even after fully recovering from the surgery. This loose skin can cause skin problems such as irritation and rashes and make you feel self-conscious about your appearance. In addition, these loose skin folds can cause dirt and sweat to build up, causing skin sores. Luckily, there are a few methods you can apply to eliminate loose skin after liposuction.

Step 1

Get intense pulse light (IPL) skin tightening treatment after fully recovering from liposuction. This non-surgical technique involves bombarding loose skin with high frequency radio waves. These waves penetrate deep into the affected areas, tightening them from within. This method is very effective in tightening loose skin around the thighs, arms and buttocks. Talk to a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon for more information about this treatment.

Step 2

Undergo body contouring plastic surgery after fully recovering from liposuction. This surgical method is recommended to eliminate loose skin if you have a hard time losing it with regular exercise and diet. Body contouring includes different kinds of body-sculpting methods used by plastic surgeons to reshape any area of your body. These surgical methods include body lifting and Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).

Step 3

Do strength training exercises such as weight lifting for 1 hour daily. Doing these kinds of exercises can help tone and build your muscles. These exercises also restore skin elasticity while making your loose skin less noticeable. Consult an exercise trainer at your local fitness club for a strength training exercise plan to target the body areas where you want to get rid of loose skin.
