Clogged pores are not only unsightly; they can lead to red pimples and dull looking skin, if not taken care of. There are two types of clogged pores: whiteheads, which are blocked pores; and blackheads, which are blocked pores that are covered by dust and debris. Luckily, unclogging pores doesn't have to be expensive and there are several remedies that you can try to get you skin as clean and healthy as possible.
Warm Water
Steam your face with warm water and a facecloth. Wet the facecloth and allow it to sit on the skin for a few minutes. Then gently rub the areas with clogged pores to release the debris. Follow with another warm rinse of water and a commercial toner or witch hazel to close the pores before they can clog again.
Fenugreek
Grind fenugreek leaves and mix with warm water to form a paste. Massage lightly into areas with blackheads and then leave on for about 10 minutes. Rinse with more warm water.
Oatmeal Mask
Oatmeal is a great exfoliant. Cook 1/3 cup quick oats with 1/2 cup water and then add 1/4 cup honey. Allow to cool to tepid and massage over face. Rinse thoroughly and follow with a toner.
