BodyFit is a company that makes exercise equipment like stability balls and medicine balls. You can do a full-body workout using BodyFit balls. Full-body workouts save you time because you can hit all your major muscle groups in one workout and even do exercises that engage more than one group at a time. Medicine balls by BodyFit come in different weights, so you can use whichever one makes you work hard, yet allows you to complete a set with smooth, controlled movements. The BodyFit Fitness Balls (what you might also call a "stability ball") add core work to any exercise because of the unstable surface the ball creates.
Ball Squats with Shoulder Flexion
The ball squat exercise works your leg and core muscles, according to the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). By holding a medicine ball between your hands and lifting the ball as you squat, you can do a shoulder exercise at the same time as you work your legs. You will place a BodyFit stability ball behind your pelvis and against a wall. You will hold your arms straight in front of you at chest height with a BodyFit medicine ball in your hands. As you bend your knees to squat down, you will also lower your arms to waist level. When you stand back up, you will raise your arms to chest level again. This way, you work your lower body and your shoulders at the same time.
Medicine Ball Push Ups
The push-up exercise works your chest and triceps. You will also work your core as you have to stabilize yourself on the medicine ball. The medicine ball push-up is done by placing a medicine ball on the floor and holding it between your hands. The arms start off straight. You can either kneel on the floor or hold yourself up on your toes. Either way, you should maintain a straight alignment from your knees to your shoulders. You will begin the exercise by bending your arms and lowering your torso toward the medicine ball. By straightening your arms to push up the body back to the beginning position, you will work your chest and triceps. The core muscles of your abs, glutes, thighs and back will struggle the entire time to keep you in position without the ball rolling away. To make this exercise even more difficult, place your legs on a stability ball.
Lat Pullovers
Lat pullovers are an exercise that works the lat muscles of your back. You can do this exercise lying on an exercise bench, but if you lie on a stability ball, it will work your core muscles. You will hold a medicine ball in your hands with your arms extended straight over your head. This will put your arms parallel to the floor with your biceps next to your ears while you are lying face up on a BodyFit Fitness Ball. You should bend your knees at right angles, and put your feet on the floor so that your upper body is flat, like a tabletop. The muscles of your back will be engaged when you raise the ball in an arch all the way to your stomach. You will return the ball back to the starting position overhead. The hips should be lifted so your torso is straight the entire time.
