Oatmeal is a highly soothing and nutrient-rich substance that can be applied to the skin to soothe irritation and treat inflammation. When other substances are combined with oatmeal, such as vitamin E oil, tea tree oil or egg whites, specialized skin care masks can be created to treat different skin problems like sensitivity, dryness, acne breakouts, sagging or wrinkles. These helpful facial masks can be used once a week to allow the skin to become as healthy and vibrant as it can be.

Step 1

Create a skin-soothing oatmeal mask to help soothe sensitive, dry skin. Pour 1/2 cup of raw, ground oats into a bowl, and mix 2 tsp. of vitamin E oil into it. Pour 1 cup of boiling water onto the mixture, and stir it well to combine them thoroughly. Wait until the mixture cools, then spread it onto your skin. Allow the mask to remain in your skin for at least 10 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. Apply an oatmeal and vitamin E mask once per week.

Step 2

Create an acne-fighting oatmeal mask that can help treat acne breakouts. Pour 1/2 cup of raw, ground oats into a bowl, and pour 1 cup of boiling water onto it. Add in three drops of tea tree oil, and mix the substances well. Once the mixture cools down completely, spread it onto your skin. Allow the mask to remain on your skin for at least 5 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. Apply an oatmeal and tea tree oil mask once per week.

Step 3

Create a skin-tightening oatmeal mask that can lift and tone sagging, wrinkled skin. Place two egg whites into a bowl, and whisk them until they form soft peaks. Set the bowl aside. Pour 1/2 cup of raw, ground oats into another bowl, and pour 1 cup of boiling water onto it. Mix the oats and the water well, then pour the egg whites into the mixture. Stir the mixture thoroughly, and allow the mixture to cool completely. Spread the mask onto your skin, and allow it to remain there for at least 15 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. Apply an oatmeal and egg white mask once per week.
