The skin around the eyes is delicate, and it's often the first area of the face that begins to show signs of aging. Genetics, sun damage, fatigue and even smiling too much can make the eyes appear older and dull. Proper make up application around the eye area, however, can make eyes look much younger in minutes.

Step 1

Smooth a fine layer of eye cream around the eye area and over the brow bone to prepare the eye for makeup. Do not use too much, just a dab.

Step 2

Apply a concealer that matches your skin tone under the eye and blend it in well.

Step 3

Use a white eye pencil to line the eyes just below the lash line of the bottom lid. Blend the line with the fingertips.

Step 4

Apply eye shadow from the inside corner of the lid outward, blending up and out.

Step 5

Use a lighter shade of shadow with some shimmer just beneath the brow.

Step 6

Thinly line just above roots of lashes with eyeliner. Smudge the line with your finger to make it look more natural.

Things You'll Need

  • Eye cream
  • Concealer
  • White eye pencil
  • 2 shades of eye shadow (one light with shimmer, one dark)
  • Eyeliner
