Enlarged skin pores on the face become can not only cause the skin to appear sallow and ruddy, but can also can encourage bacteria to become trapped inside, which can lead to acne breakouts and blackheads. To shrink the size of the pores and to prevent skin eruptions, it is important to follow a skin care routine that will drain and empty the pores naturally and remove dead skin that can become lodged inside the pores, and to use a pore-tightening mask.

Step 1

Empty the pores of impurities that could be causing the pores to become distended. Spread 1 tbsp. of olive oil onto your skin, and use your fingers to massage the oil into your skin. Drape a steaming hot washcloth onto your skin, and allow it to remain there until it cools down. Use the washcloth to remove the oil, and repeat twice per day.

Step 2

Remove dead skin cells from the face that could become lodged inside the pores. In a small bowl, combine 1 tbsp. of baking soda, 1 tbsp. of raw, ground oats and 2 tbsp. of honey. Spread the mixture onto moistened skin, and massage it in well using slow, circular motions. After 2 minutes, rinse of your skin with warm water. Repeat twice per day after applying an olive oil massage.

Step 3

Apply an egg white mask, which contains high levels of protein that can tone and tighten the skin. Whisk two egg whites in a small bowl until they form soft peaks. Spread the egg whites onto your skin, and allow to dry completely. Rinse off your skin with warm water. An egg white mask can be applied up to three times per week.
