Acne is an inflammatory condition characterized by the appearance of red or pink bumps on the skin that can be filled with puss. Although there are many over-the-counter skin care products that can treat acne breakouts, they usually contain strong chemical ingredients that can irritate the skin. Luckily, acne can be effectively eliminated by using a few natural acne remedies that cleanse and remove excess oils and impurities, killing off acne-causing bacteria, and drying up acne pustules.
Step 1
Wash your skin with a natural, chemical-free soap. Splash your skin with water, and lather up your hands with the natural soap. Smooth the lather onto your skin, rubbing it around gently. After the entire area is covered, rinse your skin well with water. Repeat two times per day.
Step 2
Kill acne-causing bacteria using an antibacterial oil. Pour 8 oz. of water into a bottle, and add 5 drops of tea tree oil into it. Mix the two substances well, and soak a cotton ball in the solution. Spread the diluted oil onto your skin twice per day after cleansing.
Step 3
Spot treat acne breakouts using calamine lotion. Shake the bottle of calamine lotion to mix it well. Soak the end of a cotton swab in the calamine lotion, and dab it onto active acne breakouts. Let the lotion dry completely, and leave it on for up to 1 hour. Repeat up to three times per day.
