Hair can thin due to aging and heredity, which can cause the hair to appear limp and lifeless. Fortunately, hair can be encouraged to grow more quickly by using a few natural methods. Not only will hair begin to grow in faster, but the hair will be thicker and stronger as well.

Massage

Massaging the scalp stimulates the hair follicles and increases blood circulation to enable the developing hair cells to receive more oxygen. It can be helpful to use a noncomedogenic oil, such as castor oil, combined with tea tree oil when massaging the scalp, which will kill off bacteria and help you move your fingers in a deeper, more fluid manner. To massage your scalp, pour 1 tbsp. of castor oil and 3 drops of tea tree oil into your hand. Spread the oils onto your scalp, and use your fingers to massage the oils in with deep, circular movements. After five minutes, shampoo your hair as normal. Massage your scalp twice a day to encourage new hair growth.

Deep Cleansing the Scalp

The scalp produces oils and sloughs off dead skin cells, which can cause the hair follicles to become suffocated, resulting in hair loss or lack of hair growth. One way to prevent this suffocation and to encourage new hair growth is to shampoo your hair with a clarifying shampoo that will clean off scalp build-up. To effectively cleanse your scalp with the clarifying shampoo, wet your scalp and hair thoroughly and pour 2 to 3 tbsp. of clarifying shampoo into your hands. Spread the shampoo onto your scalp, and use your fingers to massage it in. A rich lather will be created. Continue to massage the lather into you scalp for two minutes, then rinse it out thoroughly with water. A clarifying shampoo should be used twice per day during the first week to remove the bulk of the scalp buildup, then once per day to maintain a clean scalp thereafter.

Vibrating the Scalp

Vibrating the scalp helps further encourage blood circulation in the scalp, and can be accomplished by moving a vibrating massaging device around your scalp. Vibrating massagers can be purchased at any bath and body shop, or through an online merchant. To use a vibrating massager on your scalp, turn on the massager, and place it genly onto your scalp. Slowly move the massager around your scalp in circular motions for around five minutes. Use a vibrating massager twice per day.
