Body hair is an accepted trait by some and an annoyance to others. If you fall into the latter category, and you want to rid yourself of this bodily feature, you have several options to choose from. As far as the best one goes, that really all depends on your personal preference. All forms of hair removal take some time and effort.
Step 1
Visit an electrologist to get hair removed around the bikini line or upper lip. With this treatment, a needle gets inserted into each hair follicle and an electrical current is sent to the tip. The root then dies and, as a result, the hair falls out.
Step 2
Make an appointment to get laser hair removal on your back if you are male. With this procedure, a beam of laser light gets shot down on your skin from an instrument held by a trained doctor. The laser focuses on the melanin, which gives your hair its color, and the laser destroys the follicles. The hair then falls out. According to the Mayo Clinic, you can expect to undergo six to eight treatments spaced six to eight weeks apart to achieve good reduction of hair and slowing of hair regrowth.
Step 3
Shave areas like your chest, legs and face. Trim down the hair with a pair of electric clippers or scissors. Wash your skin and leave it wet. Apply shaving cream and run a new razor blade over your skin in smooth, short strokes. After you have removed all the hair, wash your skin and apply a moisturizer.
Step 4
Apply a depilatory cream to remove hair on your arms. Wash your skin with warm water or dampen it with a warm washcloth. Spread the depilatory cream liberally and let it stand on your skin as per the manufacturer's instructions. During this time, the active chemicals in the depilatory will break down the protein in the hair, making it weak. Wipe off the hair and cream with a damp washcloth. Apply adequate pressure when you do this. Wash your skin again and apply a moisturizer.
Step 5
Wax the hair on your stomach with the help of a home kit. Heat up the wax and apply it to your skin with the applicator tool. Place the cloth strip over the wax and flatten it out. Grab the edge of the strip with one hand and place your fingers on the skin above it. Rip it off in a fast downward motion. Apply wax again wherever you want to remove hair.
Step 6
Pull hair out from your eyebrows, ears and nipples with a pair of tweezers. Grab the hair close to the skin with the tweezers and pull it straight out in a smooth and steady motion. Do not yank on the hairs as this can cause them to break off.
Tips and Warnings
- If you do not want to wax your own hair, you can get this done at a spa or salon.
- When using a depilatory cream, make sure to keep it away from your eyes, mouth and any areas of broken skin.
