There are many different hair care products on the market. Unfortunately, many of these products can cause the hair to become dry, brittle and damaged. Damaged hair can break off more easily, making it difficult to maintain strong and long hair. Luckily, hair can be repaired and encouraged to grow in faster and stronger by following a regimen that stimulates the hair follicles and distributes the scalp oils evenly throughout the hair shaft.
Step 1
Massage the scalp with stimulating tea tree oil. Pour 2 tbsp. of castor oil into your palm, and mix three drops of tea tree oil into it. Spread the oils onto your scalp, and use your fingers to massage it in using slow, circular motions. After five minutes, shampoo your hair like normal. Massage your scalp with oils once per day.
Step 2
Brush the scalp with a prong-style hair brush. Place a prong-style hair brush onto your head, and move it around your scalp in circular motions for 10 minutes, brushing the entire area well. Focus on brushing the areas that are thinning or brittle. Brush your scalp in this manner twice per day.
Step 3
Brush the hair with a boar bristle hair brush to distribute the scalp oils to the ends of the hair. Place a boar bristle hair brush onto your scalp, and pull in downward in long strokes. Focus in pulling the oils from your scalp down to the ends of your hair, where the hair can be the most dry and brittle. Brush your hair in this fashion for at least 15 minutes every day.
Tips and Warnings
- Massaging and brushing the scalp stimulates the hair follicles, and encourages new hair cells to develop by bringing more blood flow and oxygen to the area. When massaging and brushing the scalp, it is helpful to utilize tea tree oil, which kills off harmful bacteria on the scalp and stimulates the skin. Use a slow, deep pressure and circular finger motions. The scalp produces oils that helps strengthen and moisturize the hair, enabling it to grow longer and stronger. By brushing the hair regularly with with a boar bristle hair brush, you can effectively pull the hair oils through the entire hair shaft to keep the hair nourished and hydrated.
