A potent source of antioxidants and health-boosting amino acids, green tea has a long-standing reputation as one of the world's most powerful superfoods. The Arizona tea company offers several commercially available forms of pre-brewed green tea, which many consumers view as a healthier alternative to "regular" black tea. Arizona also takes steps to meet the needs of environmentally conscious consumers by providing a line of sustainable products. Despite the fact that many Arizona green teas contain significant amounts of sugar, these products offer a number of important health benefits.

Cancer Prevention

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) notes that green tea is commonly used to prevent cancers of the breast, colon and skin. Green tea products contain the powerful antioxidant epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), which may protect cells from the oxidative damage that contributes to cancer. Many of the products offered by Arizona also contain added high-antioxidant products like pomegranate.

Anxiety

According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), tea contains the amino acid L-theanine, which can help to relieve some symptoms of anxiety. However, green tea is also a fairly significant source of caffeine, which may worsen anxiety symptoms. One variety of Arizona green tea also contains ginseng, which is renowned in traditional Chinese medicine for its ability to reduce anxiety symptoms with no sedative side effects.

Dental Health

The NIH states that studies have investigated the use of unsweetened green tea as a mouthwash. Unsweetened Arizona green teas may help to prevent dental cavities; however, sweetened forms are more likely to cause or contribute to cavity development.

Immunity

According to the NIH, some preliminary studies have suggested that green teas can enhance immune response to the common cold and human T-cell lymphocytic virus.

Arthritis

According to NIH, some compounds in green tea may reduce inflammation associated with arthritis and slow the breakdown of joint cartilage.

Cardiovascular Health

Arizona green tea may help to promote cardiovascular health. The NIH notes that green tea may help to prevent or treat several cardiovascular conditions including hypertension, high triglyceride levels, high cholesterol, clogged arteries and heart attack.

Affordability

Arizona's products are surprisingly affordable; the company advertises that many of their green tea products have a retail price of just one dollar per bottle.

Environment

Most Arizona green teas are packaged in natural glass bottles instead of plastic. Arizona also offers a three USDA-certified organic varieties of green tea.
