UltraClear, by Metagenics, is a nutritional supplement that's marketed as a "medical food" for those with chronic fatigue syndrome. It contains many of the same ingredients that you'd find in a multi-vitamin shake, along with trace minerals and amino acids. Lacking any direct scientific proof that UltraClear is effective in treating chronic fatigue syndrome--and lacking FDA regulation of supplement claims--consumers will have to make their own educated decisions on a case-by-case basis about whether this product is useful to them or not.
Step 1
Fill a glass with 8 oz. of chilled water or fruit juice.
Step 2
Measure two level scoops of Metagenics UltraClear into the water or juice. If you've lost the scoop that came with the UltraClear, you can use a food scale to weigh out the appropriate portion weight of 44g.
Step 3
Stir the UltraClear briskly into the liquid with a spoon, then consume right away.
Tips and Warnings
- If necessary you can work your way up to a full dose by starting with a half-dose (one scoop, mixed into 4 oz. of chilled water or juice) twice daily, for three or four days, then moving up to the full dose. Try using the UltraClear in water before you mix it with juice; this will give you a chance to get accustomed to the product's flavor and choose a type of juice that will mix well with it, instead of an unpalatable combination.
