Waxing has become an ideal way to remove unwanted body hair on the legs, arms, bikini zone, lip and eyebrows. Heated wax is placed on the skin where the unwanted hair grows and then is covered with a cotton strip. The wax cools slightly and the hair is ripped out by the root as the cotton strip is removed from the skin in one swift movement. Eyebrow waxing requires more care since the eyes are a sensitive part of the human body. Burns are more common in this area due to the skin's sensitivity. These burns are normally minor and can be treated at home.
Step 1
Apply a cool compress to the burned skin. This will help prevent any blistering and increase blood circulation to the area, promoting faster healing time.
Step 2
Take ibuprofen for pain every four hours. Taking ibuprofen will also reduce swelling along with pain. Follow package dosing instructions carefully according to your age.
Step 3
Apply aloe vera gel to the eyebrows, keeping it out of your eyes. Aloe vera is a natural astringent that keeps germs from infecting the burn, and the gel will cool and heal the burn with continued use.
Step 4
Avoid eye makeup for the first 24 hours to allow the burn to "breathe." Makeup can further irritate the burn.
Step 5
Apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment to reduce swelling and prevent infection. Antibiotic ointments also speed up the healing process by helping speed up skin cell regeneration.
