Your red face might have another cause, other than embarrassment. People with acne lesions can have red skin because of the irritation and inflammation from the acne. Rosacea patients suffer from characteristically red or ruddy facial complexions as one of the symptoms of their condition. While undergoing medical treatment, these patients can find easy remedies to deal with the redness of their skin.
Step 1
Wash your face gently. Pat your skin dry instead of rubbing. Get an acne cover-up lotion and gently rub this on your face after washing. The medication in the lotion works on the irritation caused by any acne pustules you might have.
Step 2
Use a green-tinted concealer stick. Gently massage this into any areas of redness on your face. Dab the concealer on the red areas and give it approximately 15 seconds to set on these areas. Blend it in with your fingers.
Step 3
Squeeze a small amount of flesh-colored sunscreen onto your hand. Scoop a small amount on your fingers. Massage the sunscreen onto your entire face so that it blends in with your skin tone. The sunscreen tones down the redness of your skin, giving your face an appearance that is closer to normal.
Tips and Warnings
- Visit your dermatologist to find out why your facial skin is red. Ask him if you have acne or rosacea. If you are already prone to acne, use oil-free products so you don't aggravate your skin condition.
