Weight Watchers is a weight loss program which uses a points system to guide dieters. While finding foods with zero points is nice for snacking and for saving your points for other meals, not every zero point food is really zero points. Take care to realize that it is zero points for that serving size and that many of the zero point foods may have points when eaten in a larger serving. Foods that are rated "zero" do not mean they are zero for an unlimited amount.
Fruits
Fruits that are part of the zero point list include a small orange or peach, three passion fruits and a medium kiwi. One maraschino cherry is also a zero point choice; however you can only have one. A cup of bitter melon or balsam-pear is also a zero point food. Making a fruit cup or adding fruit as an in between meal snack is a good way to feed a craving without taking away from your points balance.
Vegetables
There are several choices for zero point vegetables, like 1 cup of cabbage or cauliflower. Other 1 cup, zero-point vegetables include green or wax beans, beets, brussels sprouts, celery and cucumber. Salads and other meals can use 1 ½ cups of red pepper, 2 cups of green pepper, 1 cup of mushrooms or 1 cup of spinach as zero point foods.
Miscellaneous
Zero-point drinks inlcude a cup of black coffee, a cup of plain tea with no additions and a can of club soda. Sauces that are zero points for a serving include 1 tbsp. of chili sauce or barbecue sauce, or you can add 2 tbsp. of fat-free salad dressing. Snacks in this category can include a vanilla wafer, 1 tsp. of sunflower seeds, or 2 tbsp. of fat-free salsa.
