There are numerous acne-fighting systems on the market that advertise acne-free skin. The Proactiv Solution was developed by dermatologists to provide a complete skin care routine. It promises to fight acne by renewing, revitalizing and repairing your skin.

Step 1

Dampen your face with cool water and squeeze a small amount (approximately the size of a dime) of Renewing Cleanser, which is in the bottle marked with the number 1, onto your fingertips. Massage the cleanser into your skin using your fingertips with gentle circular motions for approximately 2 minutes. Wash your face thoroughly with lukewarm water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel; don't rub, as this may irritate your skin.

Step 2

Apply the refining mask. Squeeze a small amount of the refining mask onto your palm and apply in a thin layer to your entire face. Let the mask dry completely; it should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse off with a lukewarm water. Pat your face gently with a towel. You will need to use the mask only two to three times per week.

Step 3

Apply the Revitalizing Toner (bottle number 2). Pour a small amount on either a cotton ball or cotton pad and gently apply to your entire face. Allow the toner to dry naturally.

Step 4

Apply the Repairing Lotion (bottle number 3). Place a small amount--approximately the size of a pea--on your fingertips. Apply a thin layer on all the affected areas of your face. Let the Repairing Lotion dry naturally. Don't rinse or wipe it off.

Step 5

Use the Green Tea Moisturizer to provide hydration. Apply a small amount to your skin and gently massage. You can wear it alone or put make-up on over it.

Step 6

Perform steps 1, 3, 4 and 5 twice a day--once in the morning and once at night.

Tips and Warnings

  • Be consistent with your routine and you will begin to see results.
  • If your skin becomes irritated after using any of the products, discontinue use and consult your doctor. When using the Renewing Cleanser and Repairing Lotion, make sure your hair is off your face. Both products contain benzoyl peroxide, which can bleach your hair as well as towels and clothes it may come into contact with.
