Diet meal delivery programs are designed to bring prepackaged foods directly to your door for specialized food intake to follow a strict diet path. Without the need to measure portions or count calories and carbs, the meals are already packaged for simple inclusion into daily life. While Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig have been around awhile, the newcomer in meal plans from the Biggest Loser (the hit weight loss show) is rising to the forefront, as well.
Nutrisystem
Nutrisystem is a 28-day menu plan with breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert brought to your door. It has plans for women, men, vegetarians and diabetics. The new diabetic's option is designed to lower your A1C number. Prices start at $11 a day, and it was named a January 2010 "SmartMoney" magazine best buy. Along with the prepackaged meals, Nutrisystem has an online support group and tools that can help you as you diet.
Jenny Craig
There are six programs in Jenny Craig--For Teens, Type 2 (for diabetics), For Men, Silver, and both the In-Centre and At Home programs. Jenny Craig claims to cost about $1 more a day than a typical American spends on food per day. You can choose your meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also choose your snacks.
Biggest Loser Meal Plan
There are four plans available with this preplanned, diet meal delivery service. You can choose 7 Days with snacks, 7 Days without snacks, 5 Days with snacks or 5 Days without snacks. The program ranges in cost, depending on the plan you choose, from $119.95 a week to $169.95 a week. The plans that come with snacks do include two snacks a day, instead of one snack like Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem. The online website shows two testimonials--one from Ali Vincent and one from Mark Krueger, both from the Biggest Loser television show.
