Nourishing your skin from the outside is just as important as nourishing your skin from the inside by eating nutritious foods, so the skin care products you use on your skin should contain a variety of vitamins and minerals that promote healthy skin. To make skin beautiful, you need to follow a well-rounded skin care regimen.
Step 1
Exfoliate the skin on your body once a week with a product that multitasks. Choose one that can gently remove dead skin cells from your skin, moisturize it, and feed your skin beneficial vitamins and minerals at the same time. Use a body scrub that contains lavender if you have problem skin, as lavender is a natural antiseptic. Use a different exfoliant on your face.
Step 2
Cleanse your skin daily with soap that nourishes it. Use products that contain ingredients such as coconut oil or Shea butter to moisturize your skin, and avoid using soaps that leave your skin feeling dry and itchy.
Step 3
Use a toner on facial skin after cleansing to remove any residue left on your face after washing it. Find one that contains no alcohol if your skin is sensitive. Use a toner that can infuse your skin with vitamins such as vitamins A, C and E for healthy skin.
Step 4
Moisturize your skin with a body lotion that contains almond oil or macadamia nut oil. Look for added collagen to keep your skin firm looking. To protect your skin from free radical damage and resulting aging, use a moisturizer that contains CoQ10. Choose a moisturizing lotion that has aloe vera or evening primrose oil in it to hydrate your skin. You may not find all of these ingredients in one moisturizer, so purchase several different moisturizers with these ingredients in them and use each one alternately during the course of the week.
Step 5
Use a mask that contains ingredients such as almond and carrot oil on your face once a week to add moisture to very dry skin. Treat oily skin with a mask that contains mud or clay to thoroughly clean skin.
Step 6
Apply a serum to your face at night to protect your skin from free radical damage. Choose one that contains green tea to keep your skin healthy and young looking.
