The skin around the eyes is sensitive and lacking in elastin and collagen to begin with. But as you start to age or tack on sun damage, that skin becomes even more thin and loses its youthful suppleness. This brings on wrinkles and crow's feet, which can leave you grimacing when looking in the mirror. But you can lose that sour face. Numerous treatments are available for combating wrinkles and crow's feet, from applying medicated creams to undergoing cosmetic procedures.

Step 1

Use an oil-free moisturizer around your eyes each morning and night. This will hydrate your wrinkles and make them less noticeable.

Step 2

Drink plenty of water each day to hydrate your body from the inside out. At least eight glasses a day are needed to keep your skin supple and to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

Step 3

Apply a topical retinoid to the eye area. Available by prescription, these creams are made from vitamin A and make the skin shed dead cells faster and boost collagen production to diminish wrinkles and crow's feet. Some irritation can develop when first using a retinoid, so be sure to moisturize well while using it.

Step 4

Have fillers injected into your wrinkles and crow's feet to reduce their appearance and help them blend in with the rest of your skin. Common fillers are fat and collagen. Botox can also be used to paralyze the muscles around your eyes and to prevent the wrinkles from showing.

Step 5

Have resurfacing treatments performed around your eyes to remove your wrinkles. Chemical peels can slough off dead skin and minimize the appearance of wrinkles when several treatments are performed. Dermabrasion causes an open wound when a wire brush is used to sand off the skin around your eyes. Once this heals, it will be smoother and your wrinkles will be less visible.
