Activities as simple as walking, cooking and gardening can quickly burn that number of calories--and more. The activities and times listed here will enable a 150 lb. person to burn 80 calories. If you weigh more than 150 lbs. the times will be shorter; if you weight less than 150 lbs., the times will be longer.

Step 1

Run at a 10-minute per mile pace, or 6 mph, for seven minutes.

Step 2

Bike at a moderate pace, or 12 to 13 mph, for nine minutes.

Step 3

Swim laps at a moderate pace using the freestyle stroke for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Walk at a moderate pace, or 3 mph, for 22 minutes.

Step 5

Wash dishes by hand for 29 minutes.

Step 6

Fish from a boat for 29 minutes.

Step 7

Water plants inside for 29 minutes.

Step 8

Stretch for 29 minutes.

Step 9

Play piano for 29 minutes.
