Cellulite gives the skin a dimpled or cottage cheese appearance, and occurs when fat cells are distributed just below the surface of the skin. It most commonly appears on the stomach, hips, thighs, and butt. Weight gain, gender, hereditary, and inactivity are all factors that can increase your risk of developing cellulite. During the process of eliminating cellulite, you can camouflage the condition by using sunless tanning products.
Step 1
Lose weight. Following a reduced fat diet can help you lose weight and reduce the appearance of fat cells in the body. Eliminate fatty foods from your diet, including fast food, fried meals, sweets, full-fat dairy products, and fatty cuts of meat. Your diet should be made up of mostly whole grains, fruits, vegetables, low fat dairy, and lean proteins.
Step 2
Spend time exercising daily. A daily routine of cardio and strength training can help you lose weight and build muscle. Besides running, jogging, cycling, and swimming, you should lift weights to build muscle in the areas that you have the cellulite. For instance, if you have cellulite on the lower body, use resistance exercise machines like leg presses to build muscle.
Step 3
Receive lipomassage. Many spas and massage parlors offer this procedure to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. During the massage, the areas with cellulite will be rubbed vigorously to get rid of excess fluid and toxins.
Step 4
Make an appointment with a plastic surgeon to discuss laser and radiofrequency therapy. During the procedure, radio energy and concentrated light target the cellulite. Results can last for several months, but you may need several treatments for the procedure to be effective.
