The colon acts as the human body's natural waste removal mechanism. When a colon stops emptying itself once daily as normal, the body is increasing its facilitation for disease. The human body is a complex machine composed of many working parts, and the colon acts as the final step in the waste removal process. The diets of human beings have developed faster than our digestive systems can keep up with. Consequently, cleansing our colons has become a strong priority in preventing diseases associated with a diet-induced congested colon. Natural cleansing supplements can be used to kill off the negative stagnation of harmful bacteria and parasites, while also promoting the production of digestive enzymes. These supplements also can contain probiotics, which are beneficial bacteria essential to improved functionality of the entire digestive track.

Herbal Cleansing Through Increased Intake of Psyllium

The recent discovery of eating fiber as a way to reduce total blood cholesterol links makes fiber a natural thing to use to clear the colon. Psyllium is a natural fiber that binds to cholesterol to be released in bowel movements during cleansing. Once these cholesterol agents begin to be removed, the body induces and promotes cleansing in the colon. Psyllium can be found in most laxatives, yet also holds a place among many everyday foods, namely breakfast cereals. Psyllium can also be ingested through ingestion of Psyllium Husks, which are available at any local drug store.

Drink More Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices

Vegetable and fruit juices hold a significant role in expediting digestion when there isn't any pulp present. In the absence of pulp, the body can more quickly absorb and utilize the juice's nutrients and live enzymes, strengthening your body to better eliminate and flush out any toxic buildup in your colon. These juices must be drunk fresh to better expedite cleansing. Enzymes in processed fruit drinks are considered dead. Simply consuming fresh fruits or vegetables falls into this category as well, though it will be harder for the body to actively utilize these live enzymes in the present of pulp.

Diet High in Grains

Grains hold a significant place in helping cleanse the colon. They can improve the level at which your body can cleanse itself; however, they will reduce the speediness of the cleansing process. This approach works best if you find that any of the other methods have made your bowel movements too frequent and less consistent.

Reduce Intake of Meats

Reducing intake of meats includes cutting out almost all beef, poultry and fish. These foods can lead to increased buildup of waste that can house harmful agents due to increased constipation. These foods take much longer to digest than other types of foods, and thus should be consumed sparingly when aiming to cleanse the colon. However, meat doesn't have to be cut out all together. Supplementing it with other forms of cleansing agents can improve and expedite the breakdown and removal of this slow-to-digest waste material.
