Natural Activities That Increase Testosterone

A lack of testosterone can affect libido, moodiness and overall health. Men's testosterone levels are generally most active during puberty, declining when entering their 20s. The use of artificial testosterone hormones in light of this can cause significant problems to long-term testosterone production. Naturally inducing the body to create more testosterone is an excellent alternative to an otherwise dangerous process.

Increase Intake in Zinc

Zinc stimulates the production of more testosterone, as it is an inhibitor in the conversion of excess testosterone into estrogen. Increase intake of foods high in zinc, which include fish and meats such as oysters, beef, liver, crab and poultry. Other foods high in zinc include nuts, seeds, dairy products, beans and brown rice.

Increase Fatty Food Intake

Monounsaturated fats and lipids are healthy fats that help boost testosterone levels. Eating a diet low in fat can actually decrease levels of testosterone. Increasing monounsaturated and omega-3 fatty intake from foods like nuts, peanut butter, tuna and olives can naturally stimulate testosterone production within the body.

Lose Excess Body Fat

Body fat contains an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of testosterone into estrogen. Eating healthy fats while working out is significantly healthier than simply cutting out fats altogether. The method of losing body fat through working out involves losing more calories than you routinely take in per day. It is best not to try to cut too many calories when aiming to lose excess fat from the body. By losing this body fat in a consistent and healthy manner, you can begin to reduce the level of estrogen production in your body.

Avoid Intake of Xenoestrogens

Xenoestrogens are estrogen-like chemicals customarily found in pesticides, growth hormones injected into livestock, and even containers made of plastic. A set of chemicals known as Parabens are a type of Xenoestrogen and can be found in various perfumes or air fresheners. Look for any Parabens on the list of ingredients for these various products. Replace these areas of your diet with organic food and containers to decrease any excess influence of estrogen on the body. These estrogen-like chemicals can increase production of estrogens within the body and decrease the presence of testosterone.
