Hair loss is an inevitable part of the aging process. It can also be caused by injury, medication use or other events. Some ways to regrow hair take longer than others, but you can get results. According to the Mayo Clinic, regrown hair is usually not as thick as the original hair.

Consume Protein

Protein is the main nutrient found in hair composition, according to the Mayo Clinic. Speedy hair regrowth may be accomplished by using hair products that contain protein or eating protein-rich foods. Soy protein is commonly found in hair care products that range from scalp treatments, shampoos and conditioners to hair treatment formulas. Soy-based foods include tofu, tempeh, miso, soy flour, soy meal, soy milk and soybeans. Soy nuts, otherwise known as roasted soybeans, are a protein-rich snack. Soy protein isolate, another soy-based product, is a protein-rich powder that can be made into beverages, says nutritiondata.com.
Other protein-rich foods include dried, canned and/or fresh heart-healthy fish such as salmon, herring, mackerel, trout, sardines and cod. If you don't like fish, take fish oil supplements. Egg whites (the dried and fresh versions) are included in this category. Dried egg whites can be added to beverages; fresh egg whites can be made into omelettes or other egg dishes. Pork rinds, low-fat Parmesan cheese and wheat gluten are other foods rich in protein.

Consume Vitamins C and E

Vitamins C and E are known for helping improve hair health by keeping hair follicles healthy. According to the Mayo Clinic and holisticonline.com, these vitamins improve blood circulation to the scalp. This increased circulation helps hair growth and/or regrow. Vitamins C and E can be found in a variety of hair products, including shampoos, gels, serums and conditions.
Eating foods rich in these vitamins can help with speedy hair regrowth. According to nutritiondata.com, many commercially prepared boxed cereals and energy bars with whole grains as the main ingredient are rich sources of these vitamins. Many spices are rich sources of vitamin E and C, including coriander leaf (also known as cilantro), paprika, chili powder, curry powder, red or cayenne pepper, oregano and ground ginger. Nuts such as dry-roasted and/or blanched hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds and almond butter are also rich natural food sources of the vitamins.

Consume Biotin

Biotin is a nutrient that has been shown to help speedy hair regrowth, says holisticonline.com. Biotin can be bought as an ingredient in a variety of hair care products such as conditioners, shampoos and/or other gels. You can also get biotin by taking supplements or eating foods rich in the nutrient. These foods include brown rice, bulgur, brewer's yeast, soybeans, lentils and whole grains.
