Since the days the ancient Egyptians walked the earth, women have been using makeup to improve their appearance. Over the years, makeup artists have come up with ways to change the size and shape of the face and its features. Although we should all be thankful for the face we were born with, some of us are not satisfied with what we have and would like to make the nose appear smaller. With a little makeup and the right technique, it can easily be done.
Step 1
Wash your face with the cleanser of your choice, and then rinse your skin well with warm water. Blot the skin dry with a paper towel.
Step 2
Wet a cotton pad with toner, squeeze out the excess and wipe your face with the pad, avoiding the eye area and the lips.
Step 3
Wet makeup sponge with water, then squeeze to remove excess moisture. Pour a small amount of liquid foundation onto the sponge (about the size of a nickel) and fold the sponge in half over the foundation to spread the foundation on the sponge evenly.
Step 4
Wipe your face with the sponge, starting from the forehead and working your way down to the jaw line. Cover your entire face with the foundation, except for the eyebrows, and make sure you taper the foundation off at the jaw line so you cannot see that the makeup ends at that point.
Step 5
Swirl your powder brush into the translucent powder and tap the brush on an extended finger to shake off excess powder. Sweep the brush across the forehead, across the chin and up the cheeks. Cover the nose with the translucent powder as well.
Step 6
Take your contour brush in hand and swirl it into shading powder. Tap off excess powder and stroke the tip of your nose and the area under it with the brush to make your nose look shorter. Sweep the contour brush over your nostrils and up the sides of your nose, to the inside corners of your eyes, to make your nose look narrower.
Tips and Warnings
- Use a cotton swab to gently blend the line that separates the shading powder from the translucent powder when you are finished. See a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and talk to him about rhinoplasty if you want to permanently make your nose look smaller.
