When you think your spouse is cheating on you, it can be tough to get the thought of your head. Short of hiring a private eye or catching your spouse in the act, there is no surefire way to know whether or not your suspicions are true. However, cheating spouses often unknowingly display signs that can help you put two and two together. These signs don't always equal a cheating spouse, but when combined with other things and your suspicions, they can help you discover the truth.

Wanting More Privacy

Everyone is entitled to their privacy, but if your mate is insisting on an extra level of privacy, this can be a significant sign of cheating. If things that used to constitute openness between the two of you now seem like a secret, it isn't paranoia on your part. A sudden need for more privacy is a legitimate cause of concern and is one of the chief warning signs for cheating spouses.

Odd Work Schedule

An odd work schedule is another sign of cheating. Work schedules often fluctuate, and while this does not always constitute cheating, it can be helpful when combined with other signs. Coming home later than usual, leaving earlier than usual or taking more frequent business trips than usual may also be cause for concern.

You're Accused of Cheating

Though it may seem strange, one of the most significant warning signs of a cheating partner is a suspicious mind. If he is cheating on you, he knows just how possible it is to get away with such behavior, and this may lead him to feel concerned about your fidelity.

Guarding Cell Phones

Some people are naturally private with their cell phones. If your spouse has always been private with his phone, the fact that he is guarding it closely may not be a good way to evaluate. If your mate begins to guard his phone more closely, keep it on his person at all times, or puts a lock code on the phone, this is a justifiable cause of suspicion. Deleting text messages or incoming or outgoing calls should also raise suspicion on your part.

Exceptionally Nice to You

While few men or women want to discourage kindness on the part of their spouse, being too nice can sometimes be a cause of suspicion. Sometimes, extra kindness, gifts or other niceties can be her way of taming guilty feelings she is experiencing because of her infidelity.
