Program Description
The Sugar Busters diet plan eliminates foods with a high glycemic index, for example, white bread, cookies, cakes and white rice. Instead, the Sugar Busters meal plan consists of 40% of your calories coming from high fiber, low-glycemic index carbohydrates, 30% from protein and approximately 30% from fats.
The glycemic index (GI) is related to your body’s increase in blood sugar levels after eating carbohydrates. The Sugar Busters plan is based on the conclusion that high GI foods raise blood sugar levels quickly, causing your body to secrete too much insulin, resulting in fat storage and weight gain.
To begin the Sugar Busters Diet you must abolish high glycemic index foods from your diet.
Actions
1. Add low glycemic index foods, including whole grains, brown rice, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, lean meat and eggs, to your grocery list.

3. Avoid beer and limit caffeine intake to no more than 2-3 cups/day of caffeinated beverages.
4. Avoid eating after 8 P.M.
5. Split up your day’s calories into 3-6 meals/day.
