How to Use Bloodroot

Bloodroot is found throughout forests in the north-central United States and in Canada. It is a powerful herb that is frequently used in small doses and should be handled carefully by anyone using it.

Step 1

Take one or two drops of bloodroot tincture every few hours throughout the day to treat sinus congestion, sore throat, asthma, phlegm, croup and pneumonia.

Step 2

Create a skin ointment to treat ringworm, tumors and warts by mixing 1 oz. bloodroot into 3-oz. lard. Heat the mixture until it boils, then lower the heat, allow it to simmer a few minutes, and strain out the excess water.

Step 3

Brush your teeth with toothpaste using bloodroot. The bloodroot will defend your teeth against plaque and help protect you from gingivitis.
