Start the Shangri-La Diet by Lowering Your Body's Set Point

Program Description
Based on the belief that people have developed strong, conditioned responses to modern food, this diet advocates eating small amounts of bland foods. These tasteless, calorie-dense foods, such as canola oil, are consumed to promote dissociation of flavor from calories to lower your body’s set point. Proponents of the diet proclaim diminished cravings and “taming” of their appetite.
Lowering your set point will suppress your appetite, and, therefore, induce weight loss without being hungry.

Actions
1. Consume small portions of bland, calorie-dense foods, including extra-light olive oil, sugar water, or canola oil.

2. Consume these bland, calorie-dense foods at least an hour before or after you consume anything with flavor.

3. Choose low glycemic index foods as your “flavor foods” to further promote a lowering of your body’s set point.

4. Seek foods with unique flavors, as your brain has likely not learned to associate that flavor with calories.

5. Avoid foods that are familiar and high in flavor, as these foods stimulate hunger.
