1. Beyond the Box

Some dieters face a challenge in keeping off the weight they lost once their Jenny Craig program ends. After you reach your weight loss goal, you can choose to stop the program and keep applying the teachings to your life. One of the main challenges involves learning how to follow a low calorie diet when you're not regularly eating the prepackaged Jenny Craig entrees. Dieters will have to gradually switch over to low calorie foods instead of relying on microwavable boxed meals. During the diet, your consultant will discuss portion control. You'll have to keep this tactic in mind to avoid gaining weight after the Jenny Craig program ends. You should measure out all of your foods and stick to the recommended serving sizes printed on the package's nutritional information. Towards the end of your program, your consultant will discuss how to wean yourself off of the frozen meals and prepare healthy meals at home.

2. Get Physical

Your activity level should not drop once you finish your Jenny Craig program. Keep up with the exercise program designed by your Jenny Craig consultant. Try to perform at least 30 minutes of cardio three times a week. Mix it up with three 30 minute sessions of weight training weekly. If you don't have time to hit the gym, stay fit by performing physical activities at home, like walking, running and aerobics. Refer to the copies of exercise plans given to you by your consultant.

3. Stay Motivated

Keeping a positive attitude can really help you keep the weight off post-Jenny Craig. Many people lose their motivation when they stop going to weekly meetings at the local Jenny Craig center. To stay motivated, you should build a strong support system of friends and family. Ask them to help you stay on track with your diet and exercise plan. Remember to keep monitoring your progress as a way to ensure that the weight does not creep back on. Some dieters decide to hang up old photos of them to stay motivated and keep the weight off. You can also throw out your "fat" clothes to give yourself the motivation to keep up healthy eating habits.

4. Back on Track With Jenny Craig TuneUp

You may gain some weight after stopping Jenny Craig. If this happens, you don't have to go back on the regular Jenny Craig program. Instead, you can sign up for Jenny Craig TuneUp, a weight loss program designed for people who wish to lose 10 lbs. or less. Your consultant will work with you to get back on track with your diet and learn more ways to control portion sizes and select low fat meals.
