Looking younger seems to be a universal desire for just about everybody over age 30. The American Academy of Dermatology says the natural aging process typically begins in your mid-20s. As skin begins to produce less collagen, it loses its firmness, becomes thinner and is more prone to wrinkling. As time marches on, your hair also tends to becomes thinner. A few lifestyle changes, a flattering hairstyle and a brighter smile can all worker together to make you look younger.

Drink Water

Keep your skin well-hydrated. Drinking several glasses of water every day may help fight dryness and make your skin appear healthier. This is because it flushes toxins out of your vital organs and transports nutrients to your cells.

Be Sun Smart

Don't spend too much time in the sun. The sun's damaging rays can make your skin look older and essentially undue all your other efforts to look younger. Wear a sunscreen with an SPF factor of 15 or higher and stay in the shade during the midday hours when the rays are most intense. If you must have a tan look, opt for one of the many sunless tanners that are available at your drugstore.

Whiten Your Teeth

Yellowing teeth can give away your age and possibly make you look even older than your years. Over-the-counter teeth-whitening strips, trays or professional bleaching in your dentist's office can give you a youthful, healthy-looking smile.

Hair Care

A flattering haircut can trim years off your face. If you love longer hair, the good news is you don't have to chop off all your locks when you reach a certain age. Any length between your chin and collarbone can give a youthful appearance. Bangs that are swept off to the side can also help you to look younger. Keep your bangs thick, since a wispy look may only make them appear thinner.

Makeup

When it comes to wearing makeup to look younger, think less and light. Light-colored eye shadow will brighten your eyes. Lighter lipstick colors look more youthful than darker shades. Use foundation sparingly. Dab on the sides of the nose and blend outward. Also apply a small amount on your forehead and chin.
