Using a facial mask is an easy way to help maintain healthy, clean and smooth skin. Dry facial skin is a common dermatological complaint affecting both men and women. Dry skin occurs frequently during winter when your skin becomes dry due to the low humidity. Dryness, cracking, peeling, reddening and loss of skin moisture can occur when your facial skin becomes dry. Dry skin can also lead to wrinkles. There are a wide variety of facial masks you can buy at a pharmacy. Commercial masks can be expensive and contain chemicals which can irritate your skin. Luckily, you can make your own facial mask using a few natural ingredients from your kitchen.

Step 1

Put one cucumber (peeled), 3 oz. of honey, ½ cup of olive oil and the flesh of one avocado in a blender or food processor. Open six green tea bags and pour their contents into the blender. Puree the mixture for 30 seconds or until it turns into a paste. Transfer to a clean bowl and set aside.

Step 2

Wash your face with warm water and a mild soap. Avoid scrubbing your face to avoid irritating your skin.

Step 3

Apply a generous layer of the face mask mixture to your face. Massage lightly in a circular motion until the facial mask hardens. Leave the mask on your face for about 30 minutes.

Step 4

Rinse the facial mask off your face with cold water and pat it dry with a clean facial tissue or towel. Don't scrub your face, as this will cause redness and irritation. Use the facial mask two or three times a week. Avoid using it daily because it can over dry your skin and absorb all the natural oils in your face.
