The stomach is a muscular hollow organ located in the abdominal cavity. It has the ability to stretch in accordance with all the food introduced into it. When empty, the stomach holds about 50ml, but it can expand to 3 liters. The more frequently you have large meals the more likely your stomach is to become expanded.

Step 1

Eat meals of smaller volume. The average meal should expand an average person's stomach to 1 liter, depending on the person's size. But if the stomach is routinely expanded more, your stomach and its feedback mechanisms will begin to expect larger meals. If you want to shrink your stomach, you should first shrink your portions.

Step 2

Eat often. This may seem counterproductive to your goals, but having a small healthy snack between meals prevents you from craving foods. This way, when you do sit down for a meal you are not tempted to overeat.

Step 3

Avoid soft drinks. Soft drinks and other carbonated beverages are best avoided if you want to shrink your stomach.

Tips and Warnings

  • Avoid overeating and over drinking.
