Many individuals notice signs of aging when the skin around the neck begins to sag. Sagging or extra loose neck skin can also be caused by extreme dieting or undergoing weight loss surgery. Having loose skin can around the neck can also lead to many skin problems, including redness, irritation and rashes. This loose skin can also make you feel self-conscious. Fortunately, you can apply a few methods to effectively tighten the neck area.
Step 1
Consult your dermatologist and consider undergoing microdermabrasion. This procedure involves applying gentle abrasives to saggy neck skin to stimulate cellular regeneration and collagen stimulation, thereby improving skin tone and sagging.
Step 2
Consult a plastic surgeon and consider getting neck lift plastic surgery to tighten your neck. This procedure involves removing excess, sagging skin on your neck and under your jaw line. The muscle of your neck, called the platysma, may also be tightened and adjusted if it has begun to sag and separate. The entire procedure can take two to three hours. You are discharged the same day.
Step 3
Undergo laser-assisted liposuction to tighten your neck. This technique is performed by a plastic surgeon and involves bombarding your skin with laser light while gently sucking fat from the areas in your neck. This procedure triggers the production of collagen (skin protein) and tightens the treated areas.
