Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disorder that usually affects the joints of the hands and feet, according to the Mayo Clinic. Rheumatoid arthritis usually occurs in individuals between the ages of 40 and 60 and can cause everyday activities to be incredibly painful. An old home remedy for rheumatoid arthritis involves soaking raisins in gin, then eating the raisins to prevent arthritis pain. If it's okay with your doctor, try this home remedy to help limit arthritis pain throughout the day.

Step 1

Place a handful of golden raisins into a shallow, clean bowl, recommend Joe and Teresa Graedon in a 2007 article in "The Baltimore Sun."

Step 2

Pour gin over the raisins. Use enough gin to cover the raisins in the bowl completely.

Step 3

Allow the gin to evaporate. This process may take up to a week.

Step 4

Place the raisins in a covered container and keep them in the refrigerator.

Step 5

Eat nine raisins a day to help reduce arthritis pain.

Tips and Warnings
