Cheating destroys trust in relationships, and often women struggle with identifying blatant signs that point to infidelity. Phone and Computer Use
Technology has facilitated the ease with which a man is able to hide his infidelity. Men often meet women online and subsequently communicate with their lovers the same way. Spending excessive amounts of time on the computer at night to "catch up on work" and getting up in the middle of the night to use the computer are potential signs that your partner is hiding something. Being possessive of his phone, taking it everywhere with him or failing to answer the phone when you're with him are possible signs that he's withholding information. Be wary if you usually pay the cell phone bills, but you haven't seen the recent bills because he's taken over the task of paying them. Although computers and cell phones can facilitate a man's cheating, technology is also usually the means by which you can catch him in an affair. It isn't difficult to spot his deliberate attempts to conceal traces of infidelity; a deleted browsing history on the computer and an empty record of recent calls or text messages on his cell phone are indicators of deceitful behaviors.
Behavioral Shifts
Signals of infidelity may be subtle, but if you have a feeling that your partner is being unfaithful, follow your instincts, because you're probably right. Men are often habitual in certain behaviors, and you know what actions are characteristic of your partner. Identify the changes in his phone calls to you throughout the day---they may have increased or decreased or seem to be rushed. Suddenly, he may have a heightened interest in your whereabouts throughout the day, and he may have been going out with the "guys" more than usual or persuading you to spend extra time with your friends. A man who's cheating is exceedingly aware of his secret, and guilt can drive him to become defensive or angry when you ask him a simple question about his behavior.
Physical and Emotional Changes
Changes in his physical appearance may reveal distinct signs of a man having an affair; for example, a man who never used to work out or eat anything resembling a salad may suddenly be very conscious of his food intake and physical appearance and start buying new clothes, working out, wearing cologne and changing his hairstyle. His clothes may smell like a woman's perfume, smoke or alcohol, or he may return after working all day smelling as though he just stepped out of the shower. He may be emotionally on edge, easily aggressive, irritated or accusatory toward you. These emotions can then carry over to the bedroom, causing drastic changes in your intimate relationship; he may either avoid sex altogether or just go through the motions, rendering the act void of any emotional connection. Conversely, you may notice that his sexual behavior is more forceful and he has started soliciting uncharacteristic sexual requests.
