Viapro, also known as prostancus HCl, is a natural herbal dietary supplement that comes in the form of a 375 mg capsule. It is available without a prescription for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. According to the Viapro website, the remedy not only enhances male performance but also has a revitalizing effect on the entire body.
Function
According to The Healthier Life website, Viapro increases sexual arousal and helps overall sexual performance. The blood flow is increased to the penis, helping to maintain an erection.
Main Ingredients
The two main ingredients in Viapro are velvet from deer antlers and L-arginine. The Healthier Life reports that animals are not injured in any way when the velvet is obtained. Deer antler velvet is also used to treat several other disorders, such as arthritis and infertility. L-arginine is an amino acid that increases the release of nitric oxide (a substance vital to achieving an erection). Nitric oxide helps relax smooth muscle while increasing blood flow. As men age, nitric oxide may become less available in the body. According to The Healthier Life, a supplement such as Viapro, which increases nitric oxide, is beneficial in helping men overcome impotence.
Other Ingredients
The Healthier Life refers to the other ingredients as aphrodisiac herbs (substances that increase sexual desire) that are added to heighten sexual arousal. These herbs include safed musli, shilajit, ashwagandha, maca, saffron and catabuba. According to The Healthier Life, each herb functions differently to help users achieve the maximum benefit from Viapro. The safed musli plant and saffron warming herb are used primarily for their aphrodisiac properties, while catabuba bark boosts the central nervous system. The Healthier Life states that ashwagandha is nicknamed herbal Viagra due to its potent aphrodisiac qualities and abilities to improve sexual function. Shilajit is a fruit known to increase both sexual performance and energy. Maca, a Peruvian plant, also increases energy and stimulates the libido.
Considerations
The Viapro website recommends taking one capsule with water approximately 30 minutes prior to sexual intercourse. Viapro may take longer to work if you take it with food. No more than one capsule should be taken in a 24-hour period.
Contraindications
The Healthier Life states that men with heart conditions should not take Viapro.
Warnings
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recalled Viapro in July 2008. The supplement contained an undeclared ingredient called thio-methisosildenafil, which is potentially life-threatening when mixed with certain types of prescription drugs. Health Canada issued a Foreign Product Alert in November 2008 advising consumers not to use Viapro due to possible adverse effects.
