Several fitness programs are available to help those wishing to lose weight and gain strength achieve their goals. The programs can include cardio, strength training, kickboxing, yoga or Pilates. Here are some of the programs available on DVD for use in the comfort of your own home.

"Billy's BootCamp System"

Billy Blanks, creator of Tae Bo, has designed the "BootCamp System" DVD, a total body fitness program that can build muscle and shed weight. There are three separate workout DVDs--"Basic Training," "Ultimate BootCamp" and "Ab BootCamp"--in a high-intensity routine that focuses on fat burning and muscle toning. Additional features include a bonus cardio DVD and a seven-day meal planner.

"The Complete Workout for Beginners"

TV fitness trainer Jillian Michaels' "The Complete Workout for Beginners" contains two DVDs and splits each workout into six circuits or separate routines. Each workout can burn about 370 to 460 calories. Essential equipment includes a 3- or 5-pound dumbbell and an optional resistance band.

"A.S.A.P."

Keli Roberts, 2003 IDEA International Instructor of the Year, released the DVD fitness program called "A.S.A.P." to focus on the back, core and legs. Using only a stability ball for equipment, the workouts can help improve posture, flexibility, strength and balance. The DVD is recommended for intermediate to advanced stability ball users with traditional and non-traditional exercises.

"Build Up Your Muscles!"

"Build Up Your Muscles!" by Gin Miller consists of four different workouts on one DVD designed to build muscle and burn calories. The workouts are perfect for beginners or advanced individuals, with the ability to adjust workout intensity by adding weight and resistance. The DVD uses dumbbells, resistance tubes, toning balls and ankle weights as equipment.

"10 Minute Solution: Rapid Results Pilates"

"Rapid Results Pilates" provides a 10-minute workout for the busiest of individuals. Instructor Lara Hudson offers tips to safely and effectively execute each exercise. There are a total of five different workouts--supertoned buns and thighs, arm and shoulder shaper, waist slimmer, slim and sleek stretch and total body blast. Each workout targets a different body area that gives a total body workout.

"Fat-Burning Kickboxing Workout for Dummies"

The "Fat-Burning Kickboxing Workout for Dummies" DVD is a high-intensity program that can burn about 700 calories per workout. The instructor shows the basics of how to jab, kick and punch effectively. Every body part, from abs to arms to legs, will get a workout in this fast-paced routine that can be used by anyone at any fitness level.

"P90X"

"P90X" is a well-known 90-day fitness program in which a personal trainer leads you through 12 different workouts. Each workout is designed to promote weight loss and muscle gain while following the three-phase nutrition plan. The DVDs introduce new workouts and exercises through the course of the 90 days, which allows you to progress with the program.

"Pilates Core Challenge"

"Pilates Core Challenge" is a Pilates DVD that can challenge any level of Pilates enthusiast. The DVD focuses on core strength and can burn about 225 calories per workout with no equipment needed.

"Get Ripped: Slim & Lean"

The 65-minute DVD, "Get Ripped: Slim & Lean" with Jari Love, can burn about 700 calories per workout. The program is broken down into 15 sections including squats, lunges and push-ups that provides a total body workout.

"Progressive Power Yoga"

"Progressive Power Yoga" from Mark Blanchard provides a yoga workout for a beginner to advanced. The workouts take 50 to 98 minutes and can burn 350 to 720 calories.
