There are many people who have acne who may want to remove the lesions naturally without having to rely on over-the-counter acne remedies or treatments prescribed by a dermatologist. Controlling oil production on the face and unclogging plugged follicles can leave you acne-free. It is recommended to steer clear of irritants, like oil-based makeup products to naturally prevent future breakouts.

Daily Washing

Wash your face twice a day to naturally get rid of breakouts. After sweating, wash your face to remove excess oil and unclog pores. However, you should not excessively wash the face since it can irritate the skin. Use lukewarm water during cleansing to prevent over drying.

Iodine Intake

According to the Doctor's Book of Home Remedies featured on the Mother Nature website, the amount of iodine that you consume can bring on an acne flare-up. Some foods that have high levels of iodine include beef, liver, cheddar cheese, butter, turkey, kelp, asparagus and broccoli.

Mint

Peppermint and spearmint leaves can be a natural remedy for acne breakouts. Peppermint is preferred to spearmint, according to the GrannyMed website, because it contains the soothing ingredient menthol. The mint is used to relieve the inflammation and irritation caused by pimples and zits. Create your acne remedy by crushing the mint leaves until you have extracted most of the juice from the stems. Take the crushed mixture of mint and the juice and massage it gently into the affected areas. Leave in place for at least five minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Oatmeal

If you have plain oatmeal and honey at your home, you can combine these ingredients to treat your acne. One cup of plain oatmeal prepared with hot water and a quarter cup of honey is blended together to create a mask. Once the oatmeal has cooled, rub the mixture on the skin. Allow it to set for 20 minutes before rinsing off the skin.
