Suffering from acne scars is no fun and can make you want to hide your face away from public view. Since that's not at all practical, there are ways to cover up your acne scars to help you feel more confident to go out in public. Finding the right makeup products and applying them properly is the real trick to smooth, flawless skin.

Step 1

Cleanse your skin with a mild face wash to remove dirt and oil. Having anything on the surface of your skin will cause the makeup to clump up or start to look shiny by midday.

Step 2

Apply a liquid foundation that matches your skin tone with a foundation brush. Dab the foundation on your skin, then spread it out with the brush from the center of your face, being careful to blend it into your hairline and jawline.

Step 3

Dab concealer or more foundation on your individual scars with a concealer brush. Any redness or uneven tone should be blotted out. Once covered thoroughly, blend the concealer into the foundation. You shouldn't be able to see your scars or the concealer by the time you're finished.

Step 4

Use a powder brush to dust translucent powder all over your face. This will give your skin a matte finish and help to set your foundation so it won't budge throughout the day.

Step 5

Apply blush to the high points of your cheeks with a blush brush to give your face color. This will give your makeup a more natural look.
