Poor health in women can lead to a decline in overall hair growth and regeneration, eventually resulting in hair loss. A woman's hair is a direct representation of her health. Because pattern baldness occurs more commonly in men, female reduction in hair growth and regeneration often results because of malnourishment. In light of an unhealthy body, the hair becomes one of the first places it will show. According to Dr. Judith Reichman, it is normal to lose about 100 hairs each day but if you are losing significantly more on a daily basis there may be a problem. Fortunately, there are many different vitamin supplements which can aid women in producing a healthy head of hair.

Omege-3 Fatty Acids

The essential fatty Omega-3 acids found in salmon, nuts and soybeans play a significant role in keeping a woman's hair healthy, moisturized and growing.

Iron

Deficiencies in Iron prove most prevalent in women, and can cause an onset of anemia, which can increase hair growth reduction and loss. Because it often proves difficult to receive adequate amounts of iron from food, many women take supplements for this area of nutrition.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is necessary in all people for the adequate repair and regeneration of collagen. In this same respect, vitamin C can also play a significant role in hair regeneration and growth.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A contributes to the overall health and function of the scalp. This powerful antioxidant promotes the production of sebum, and helps keep hair healthy.

B Vitamins

Supplements containing energy rich B vitamins can help prevent hair loss in women, and are important to the regeneration of new hair. Since B vitamins prove difficult to obtain through ingestion of foods alone, take supplements to prevent hair loss and grow healthy hair.

Beta Carotene

This orange carotenoid exists in foods such as carrots and pumpkins. This supplement can improve the strength of your hair, as well as encourage growth.

Biotin

This supplement helps hair follicles sustain hair strands longer, allowing for longer growth. It can also delay the onset of gray hair states the National Institutes of Health.

Zinc

Zinc helps curve the synthesizing and creation of androgens in the body, which can increase rate of hair loss while reducing rate of hair growth and renewal.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E can help improve circulation throughout a women's body, which in turn can improve the rate at which the scalp grows hair.
