How to Get Stage 3 Breast Cancer Information

Breast cancer results because of cells in the breast (either the milk-producing lobular cells or the cells in the ducts) developing genetic mutations that cause them to grow uncontrollably. Breast cancer can be divided into different types as well as different stages: the higher the stage, the more advanced the breast cancer has become. Getting a diagnosis of breast cancer can prove terrifying, but there is a lot of information available to help educate you and make the whole experience less frightening.

Step 1

Talk to your doctor or your local hospital's oncology department. They can tell you about stage III breast cancer, including the prognosis, symptoms and treatment. Many doctors and hospitals also have informational pamphlets or packets that they can provide to give you more information.

Step 2

Contact the local office of the American Cancer Society to receive information about stage III breast cancer. The American Cancer Society has offices around the country that you can find by using their online directory. The American Cancer Society offers a number of informational pamphlets on breast cancer and the treatment of different stages of breast cancer.

Step 3

Contact your local health department office to find information about stage III breast cancer. The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials has links for each state's health department.

Step 4

Order information about stage III breast cancer, from the National Cancer Institute. The National Cancer Institute has a number of pamphlets that are available for free about the different stages of breast cancer. You can either download these pamphlets or order them from the Institute and have them delivered via mail.
