If you have a dog or cat that seems to constantly be scratching, your pet may benefit from the application of Hot Spot Itch Relief Spray. This product contains natural ingredients, like chamomile, tea tree oil, and aloe to calm the skin and keep your dog from scratching. Although the spray does not permanently resolve the skin condition, it does provide temporary relief from itching.
Function
Hot Spot Itch Relief Spray is a product that is appropriate for use on dogs and cats that are over the age of 10 weeks. It was manufactured to provide relief from itching that develops as a result of flea infestation, allergies and skin rashes. Veterinarian's Best produces Hot Spot Itch Relief Spray. When applied to the skin, the aloe, tea tree oil and chamomile reduce the inflammation associated with skin irritations. The ingredients also help the skin heal quicker while easing any soreness that may be present.
Dog Application
To apply to a dog, point the nozzle a couple of inches away from the irritated areas on his body. Since you should not get the mixture in his eyes, you may want someone to hold the animal and protect this area while you apply the Hot Spot Itch Relief Spray. If you are unsure of what area of the skin is irritated, you can apply the mixture to the entire body.
Cat Application
Cats require a different application. One tablespoon of the Hot Spot Itch Relief Spray needs to be diluted in a cup of warm water. Dab the mixture with your fingers to needed areas of the fur. If you have a flea comb available, dip the comb in the liquid and run the bristles through the fur. You should have someone secure the cat during the application process.
Bath
Itching caused by fleas and allergy-related dermatitis can be treated by giving your dog a bath using Hot Spot Itch Relief Spray mixed in. Two tablespoons of the product with two cups of water can be poured over the dog after bathing. You should not rinse out the mixture or towel the pet dry after application.
Warning
Although Hot Spot Itch Relief Spray provides relief from scratching, it may not be effective at treating the underlying cause of the problem. Ask your vet for recommendations on treatment products if the pet is suffering from flea infestation or allergies. Additionally, the manufacturer recommends that you do not exceed four applications daily.
